Hello from the Last Frontier!
As a life long Alaskan, my younger years were spent near Denali Park and those mountains still feel like home. My husband, son and I now live in Southeast on Prince of Wales Island. I guess that’s what happens when you marry into a commercial fishing family! It’s not really a career a person could have in the Interior. We still have a place to retreat to at the base of the mountains every year for moose hunting. I know how fortunate I am to be able to do that while the place we actually live and work is 1200 miles at the other end of Alaska.

Living in a rainforest is not always easy, there are days that we get tired of the rain and dream of Hawaii. Summer in Southeast makes up for it all! Alaskans play hard when the weather is good.
On our little farm we raise Kunekune pigs, a variety of chickens and some cute bunnies that would never qualify as a meat rabbit. We have a some favorite recipes to share for unique foods like geoducks and black cod. And a few favorites that have become cold weather comfort food. We hope you enjoy our Alaskan journey as much as we have!
